Hi,

My name is Shifan Daruwalla and I am a senior at the NYU Stern School of Business where I double major in Finance and Philosophy.

I have been trading macro for the past 1.5 years on my own account. I have also interned at Goldman in their Securities Division where I rotated through the G10 and EM Rates, as well as G10 and EM FX desks.

I am currently interning at EIA Alpha Partners where I am a macro trading assistant, as well as work with the investment committee to create views, strategy, trades, and help to manage risk.

I am interested in a career in macro trading and macro hedge funds. The purpose of this blog is to send out my ideas to viewers and subscribers and to foster a conversation about themes and trade ideas. My email is snd314@stern.nyu.edu.

Intro Hi all,      And thank you for tuning back into the April series of MarcoSquawk. Macro Markets Recap Post Thanksgiving 2019

Hi all, It's been a busy week of news and data this Thanksgiving holiday. Most notably, we saw the signing of the Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act almost unanimously in Congress. The worry here is that it'll lead to retaliation ahead of the critical December 15th deadline for some resolution to the Phase 1 deal on trade. As a result, we've seen a broad selloff in risk assets across the world. But what exactly are the intermediate term implications of this act? Upon further examination, it would seem that it is not as biting as it would first appear which could afford an opportunity to fade a lot of the moves we have seen over the past week.
